The Chemical Brothers

Tom Rowlands & Ed Simmons met in history class at Manchester University in 1989. They started in 1992 as DJs known as "The 237 Turbo Nutters" (named after the number of their house on Dickenson Road in Manchester and a reference to their former Blackburn raving days). They then opted for "The Dust Brothers" later in 1992, which they nicked from the L.A. producers of the Beastie Boys' 1989 Album "Paul's Boutique", as they believed that they would never be famous. In 1995, they changed their name to the more well-known alias, "The Chemical Brothers", after the American The Dust Brothers threatened to sue.
