Bernhard Pucher

Bernhard Pucher aka B-Pushr has been immersed in electronic music since the late ’90s. He began collecting records in 1996 and, within the same year, ventured into music production. Inspired by a vibrant dance community, he honed his craft in his hometown of Vienna, Austria.

In 1998, he relocated to Dallas, Texas, where he encountered an entirely different electronic music scene. There, he connected with artists and audiences who embraced not only dance music but also more experimental sounds—downtempo, industrial, breaks, and hard techno.

By 2000, a turning point arrived when he teamed up with fellow techno enthusiast Eric Estornel (Maceo Plex, Maetrik, Mariel Ito). Estornel introduced him to styles he had never deeply explored before: minimal, deep house and electro. These influences reshaped his artistic direction, leading him to launch his own label, Iron Box Music, in 2001. Drawing on his background in industrial and heavy metal, Pucher began developing a distinctive, harder-edged take on minimal.

By the end of 2004, he had released over 13 records, alongside numerous remixes and appearances on respected imprints including Ai Records, Substatic, Spectral, Ware, Onitor, Poker Flat, Tangent Beats, and, of course, his own Iron Box Music.

In 2008, as his film career started flourishing, he took a nearly two-decade hiatus from electronic music and DJing. However, he never quite let go of his roots. He directed multiple music videos for Maceo Plex, including the ablum video his '93 record, garnering a millon views on Youtube. He's also gotten very active on Instagram, making mini documentaries about Techno, records and DJing.

By mid-2025, he's gotten right back into the swing of things, returning as a Vinyl Only dj playing his signature sound, and producing tracks to be released in 2026.
